I bought this 1930-vintage NID No. 2 Super-Ten the year the Winchester ammunition catalogue had the symbol next to their only remaining 2 7/8 inch 10-gauge loading, 1 5/8 ounce of #4C, that it was discontinued and was offered subject to stock on hand. I bought all 24 boxes that Potomac Arms had at their end of season ammunition sale. Still have 19 of those boxes!!

Dave, I am shooting my New Old Stock short tens at the rate of about 1% of my inventory each year. I will have Linda ship the remains to you if I get hit by a truck.

Took a friend out to shoot a Ruger Red Label he's owned for 4 or 5 years and never shot !

We first shot two rounds regular skeet !

He did okay for a first try and I used my W&C Scott 10 and got 48 outta 50 . Dropped a low 6 in each round

We then shot a round of trap . He changed chokes and I took out the Ithaca short 10 . My friend shot better at trap and I shot a 22 with the Ithaca . We shot another round of trap and he used the same gun while I used my Ithaca single barrel trap gun and broke a 24 .

Another friend showed up and we decided to shoot Jap Trap . I wanted to shoot the Ithaca 10 some more but it's got just a bit to much drop for me and I deferred to my W&C Scott . We shot a couple rounds of that and all did fairly well !

I am 100% certain every bird I missed on the skeet field and regular trap field was because I wasn't focused on the bird !

Jap Trap is another story !

I like to throw a little extra in the mix . The trap machine we use for this also has the wobble feature in it so not only does it oscillate left and right but also up and down !

That thing can throw some flat dropping birds and darn near a springing Teal .

I would say both my W&C and the Ithaca 10 are choked full or fuller in both barrels of both guns . I am quite sure the hard left or right screamers out of the trap machine that I'd sometimes be just a hair slow getting two were easily 40 yards away when I popped them .

My old Ithaca single barrel could get very decent in my hands if I shot it enough to become used to it !
But after shooting Krieghoff's for a good many years with all my patterns at 70/30 that old Ithaca that is 50/50 takes a bit to get used to again . I have to mentally remmmember that gun shoots as flat as a pancake

The old Ithaca short 10 barked my cheek a bit . First time I've had that happen in a number of years . Think I may get a slip on comb thing to raise it a bit before hunting season . Well that is if it patterns my 00 Buck loads worth a darn .

Think I'll reload all my 10 gauge hulls this weekend and maybe get some 16's with 7/8 ounce's of shot ready for my Fox AE and shoot that next week .

THink now I need to also put forth some effort and get set up to reload 2 1/2" 12's and 20's then I can shoot the other two W&C Scotts !

My old 10 W&C shows it's age but the 12 and 20 are easily 95%+ .

Last year I had the 12 and 20 W&C at the Baltimore Gunshow with thoughts of liquidating them . And once again I'm glad I never brought them in the building .

love to see some pictures of the small bore scotts...one thing about having full chokes if you miss with the first barrel you still have a secound chance with the other full barrel..that is if target is going away from you... i dont shoot trap or skeet but thats because all the clubs are50 miles or better away...but ive shot my fair part of pop cans and 30 inch targets...my best shot ever with holes in a aluminum drink can is 13 pellets at 50 yards...no 4 shot in 3 inch 12 ga rem...turkey load in a 10 ga lc smith using those ga reducers.... ive tried all kinda loads at the pop cans from no 8 shot down to bb with the 8 ga down to the 410 at this distance...the no 4 s still hold the record at 50 yards.... this will give you fellas something to shoot at when you dont wanta go to the range...who knows maybe you can beat my record.....ha charlie

I used to have a 95 yard rifle range behind my house , but our little Border Terrier would get all wound up and go into convulsions when I set down and shot a buncha high powered rifles working up loads . So now I shoot very little at home except during hunting season and thats all at deer ! And usually never closer then 150 yards to our home . My old range bench was maybe 30 yards from the corner of the house back beside a small Butler Steel building we keep the tractor , mower and ATV in .

I'll see if maybe I can't photgraph the two smaller W&C's . I don't believe I've ever photgraphed them and posted pics on the net !

May be this weekend or next week before that happens . When they start Speed Weeks at Daytone I kinda let most of the other stuff slip to the wayside
