Yes, to the Manila Trading and Supply Co.

JMPO but the ones with the exposed screw head look more appropriate. The style with the post and hidden capture screw looks too aftermarket to me, original or not.

Opinions like mine are likely part of the reason I'm not into "Originality Collecting".

I haven’t seen a gold cap with a screw in it , that would be a lot easier to make then one on my gun . Thanks Tracy

That early style center screw was prone to backing out… ask Dave Suponski.

Look at pages 316 & 318 in TPS. There are most certainly other examples in there as well.

I find that hard to believe. Every one I have encountered was pretty well held in place with green oxidation since the screw is brass. And the screws are machine screws, not wood screws. And they are longer than the typical wood screw that holds the standard caps on. Maybe his was stripped out. Just because it happens once does not make it prone to happening.

My AHE Trap has two pins in drilled holes on the left and right sides of the cap. It isn't original but looks good and the pins have never backed out in the forty years I have owned the gun.

And another on an AHE that I believe to be original.

Well Dave's may have been a replacement as it was only about 1/4" long...
