Jack got it exactly right. I think you would be hard pressed to recover what the gun is worth as is and recoup the refinishing cost as well. If it were me I would sell the gun as is and not tie up a lot of money and time and ultimately reduce the number of potential buyers. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
