Thanks for the comments. I'm going to buy an after market shield inlay and have it put in by a professional. New butt pad too.

That sounds like a good plan. Look closely at the pics of the stock shield found on V, P, and G-grades and make sure you get the shape just right. Galazan carries one that is close, but looks like it could be reshaped a little with a file to get it right. Here it is:
My original stock shields measure 9/16" long and 1/2" wide, CSMC shields are 13/16" long and 5/8" wide so be prepared to do more than a little tweaking to make it look right....Roger
