What makes you think it is a Remington restoration?? We would really like to help you,but you are not giving us any help to do so.We like to recruit new members and the best way is to help them make a good investment in a Parker. David |

Does the gun have Remington repair codes? Claiming that the refinish on the gun was done at Remington is a bit of a stretch, even if it does have Remington repair codes stamped on it. I am fairly familiar with the gun, from the time it was sold in California to now. Is it #172,800 or is it another gun? They have more than one AAHE and you're not specifying which one it is.

I am aware of the gun but have not actually seen it. Nice gun, under 7lb so pretty light for a 12ga Parker. It has been completely restored but I am not aware of any documentation that it was done by Remington. A claim by a dealer that it was done by Remington has no value unless it can be documented. A Remington repair code on the gun can mean anything. IMHO, that is pretty pricy for that gun.

Do we know which gun we are talking about? If we are talking about the little gun, the PGCA letter, if there is one, will say that the gun was ordered January 13, 1916 by Abercrombie and Fitch at $325.00. I believe I have had a bore micrometer and maybe a wall thickness gauge in these barrels many years ago, but that should be done by any potential buyer before passing judgement on it. It is a pretty nice gun.
