Buy all the Frontier pads you want at $6 each, or buy six of these for less. Absolutely the same pad.

Thanks Edgar. I ordered this morning and should have the pads by Wednesday. In the mean time I've been loosening up the rust with Kroil and a toothbrush. I hadn't realized the amount of rust on the barrels and rib. A little nasty looking.

Receiver looks blued to me, maybe barrels were hot blued too, stock needs a lot of work to make it safe to shoot, barrel dents were not done correctly, would cost at least 2500 to do it right, would be a nice gun then, but you would be upside down for a long time, probable forever. I wish it was in better shape, but it is what it is a money pit.

Guys I bought some of what Edgar is talking about and it scratched a sxs and a rifle I was using it on and I Know for sure they were original and not reblued . It is a thicker pad as the frontier are softer and not as sharp in my mind . Just my 2 cents .

Not in book, no info on gun to see what letter is, still a nice one to have if it was fixed completely, I re read first post, barrels are reblued hope rib is tite, looks like weep hole drilled on underside of rib, probable a hot reblue, not good by any means

According to their website the Frontier pads are a proprietary alloy of stainless steel, nickel silver, monel (a corrosion resistant nickel based alloy), and zinc that is harder than rust but softer than bluing. I just received an order for a dozen pads and they do seem different than a straight stainless steel pad. Probably not worth removing bluing or scratching the metal just to save a couple of bucks.
