Here's a shot of pups first legit point over a live bird at 10-1/2 weeks
Took him back about 40 yds and took the shot b/c this pup was just so natural & bold..his ears perked at the shot and he was on that bird within seconds..he was one proud pup!! |

Jan 31, 2016, last day of the Kansas season. Nothing but wild birds.
These big plains, flyover country to many, stretch from the Texas Panhandle to the Canadian prairie provinces. You'll walk 8 to 10 miles a day following the bird dogs. In the 1880's and 90's, trains from the east came out here and sportsmen left the club cars and Pullman sleepers and went on buckboard wagons with local farmers in search of sharptail grouse and prairie chickens. |
