I used to do 1 1/8 ounce 10 gauge loads with 18.6 of Red Dot and they were quite pleasent but I’ve liquidated all the Red Dot I had . But to be totally honest I like the 1 1/4 ounce load . It’s a load Ross Seyfried published in Handloader magazine about thirty years ago . He was shooting it in a W&C Scott crystal indicator 10 gauge exactly like the one I have that used to belong to my grandfather . Granted I’ve changed the card wads for red beans but it still the same basic load .

I shot a fair number of the original BP1044s, had some tested with identical loads vs. SP10s. They produced slightly less pressure and very similar velocity. I have about a half bag left, plenty SP10s but thinking on ordering some of the new ones to try.

I still have a bag of the old ones. As I remember all the 10ga wads fit very loose be they Remington or BPIs. I at one time that now seems like years ago called RST commenting on the loose fit. He just laughed and said " how do you think we get such low pressure loads "?

My answer to any similar question is "It's a shotgun, don't worry about it."
