That gorgeous gun is one of only a couple Bernard barreled B grades. Although the flying bird is stylized rather than a true representation of a real bird, look at the deep cut rondell engraving in back of it. A fabulous gun. |

Notice the 'serpent' banner bearing the Parker Bros. logo. The engravers at Parker Brothers were given the liberty of expression on the higher grades... within the parameters of 'good taste' of course.

Craig, your 1904 Parker is a wonderful example of the kind of art that ushered in the Art Deco period. Art Deco began in Europe in about 1908 and didn't become popular here until after WW-I. The border engraving everywhere on the frame is exquisite and the scroll engraving on your Grade 5 is wonderful.
