I own a 34" Parker 20 gauge, but, unfortunately, it only has one barrel.

Yes sir Randy

I'm counting on you to put that memory in the rear view mirror

Oh, one more thing, do not take a gun case along or plan that you will be buying anything.

That was our downfall on that trip or that is my story and I'm sticking to it

Hmmmmmmm. Bill for some reason I cannot grasp that as being "unfortunate" but if it is and you should find yourself becoming disenchanted with this barrel lacking Parker let me know please, please

Speaking of auctions and Parkers, a couple of 28 gauge Parkers sold in Morphy's auction yesterday. D and C grade guns both sold around $25k with the premium I think. The C had some gold inlays added if I recall correctly. I was only casually listening to the auction in order to protect myself from myself.

The two barrel set C with modifications did bring more than the DH. The DH was a rare Damascus barrel 28 that someone bought at a good price in my opinion. The only negative about it, if you call it a negative, is that it was an 0 frame gun. Prices seemed a bit weak on the Parkers that I watched but that was only about the first four or five that sold. Too many auctions in December! I wonder if someone here bought either gun? Or the 12 gauge 32" A grade gun?

Nothing surprises me anymore, and it seemed like another example of “Never Say Never”. I was shocked that CHE 28 hammered at $20,000. Half of the auctioneer’s low estimate. Yes, it had been fussed with, but it was still a ‘one of one’ gun.

My thoughts as well Reggie. It took some hard focus to stay out of the mix on the D grade gun. Damscus barrels too. I took a run at a few guns but only until they weren't a real steal in my opinion. The AHE 12 gauge really seemed interesting but I just don't know enough about that segment of the market to be too aggressive.

.

I would wager that it will bring in excess of $50k. This is shopping in the big & tall department!

I am going to need favorable odds to consider that wager Reggie, very favorable.

Gary Herman and I were discussing these long barreled guns this morning. His remark sent shivers down my spine, but he's right; " If those guns came in the store 40 years ago, they wouldn't sell until we chopped them off to 26" or 28".
It gives me nightmares to think of all the long barreled guns my dad would ignore if they weren't 'upland' guns. It goes to show how these trends go in perfect sine waves of popularity.

edit: I must have had buns on my mind
