I only looked at the gun. Where I am not a potential buyer, the rest of the ad was unimportant to me.

BUT

buyer be informed may be more appropriate -

the seller does state the minimum wall thickness, most don't - he just doesn't tell you its dangerous, IMHO anyone buying old guns should know what they are seeing

Nor does he tell you where that measurement was taken. I would never have even considered this a possibility, but on a recent trip to Cabass Pro Shop, I asked (silly me, right?) the Gun Library salesperson if he knew the barrel wall thickness. He went through the fanciest maneuver, took one of the GH (2 bbl set) barrels out and put his digital caliper onto the muzzle and told me there was plenty of "Meat". I couldn't disagree, that last half inch of barrel was very safe.

My issue with their policy of "It is up to the buyer to have the gun checked by a gunsmith for safety", is that its very misleading. That policy suggests that this gun COULD be unsafe to fire. In this case they know darn well that this gun absolutely IS unsafe to fire. So essentially, they are looking for a buyer who doesn't know the difference, and when his face or hands get blown off, that will be his problem, so the logic goes. Well, my 30 years as an attorney tells me differently....some sellers just seem eager to get sued.
