I wonder if his price increase reflects the apparent softening in the interest/usage/price of old SxS guns (and therefore the usave of his shells.) Sorry

I’ve changed my opinion on this over the past few months. RST is invaluable to our little double gun community. I’ll buy my 2 1/2 in 16 gauge RST paper shells for the Belgian hammer gun and 2 1/2 in 12 ga shells for my Parker lifter. I’ll hapoily pay a bit more to keep RST in business.

I agree with what Robert said also but an increased cost to me of that amount is unacceptable. I was purchasing about 50 flats a year and had been for several years . They did extend to me a good discount on shells and shipping that I feel was justified for purchasing that volume. It Morris's business and he needs to make money but...

Well... there you have it.

Good to hear that they are starting to stick to dealer pricing going to actual dealers. That is the way it should be. Offering too many discounts to too many retail buyers always ends up biting any business in the butt eventually.

You mean that some individuals who are not dealers were able to buy RST shells at lower prices than other others? I always paid the list price and would not think to ask for a dealer
price because I am not a dealer and do not resell.

Did I pay too much? I guess I feel kind of foolish now by not getting the discount others did .

I don’t mind a quantity discount if there are reduced handling and shipping costs but with RST I don’t generally see that situation unless there is an order for thousands.

Fifty flats might just qualify for a discount........

I knew I should have bought two flats of 12ga 2 inch paper shells last year

Rich,

It looks like the 2" papers went up quite a bit. The bird numbers are down where I go so I'm not using a lot of shells.

I would never ask Morris for a discount and I don't think I have ever received one either.
Heck, he gives so much to the PGCA and its several venues each year I would be embarrassed to ask for more. I know his generosity doesn't benefit me directly but it benefits all of us and enriches our shotgunning lives considerably.
