Close to where I grew up was the A.I. DuPont Memorial Pediatric Hospital. The grounds - 300 ares or so, were surrounded by an 8 foot fence, topped with broken glass shards. His will specified the glass, saying "It is to keep out undesirables, many of whom bear my family name"

[QUOTE=Mills Morrison;267205]
There is a great story about Mr. Dupont sending an ex wife a crate of mildly anesthetized alligators instead of antique furniture from her divorce settlement. Great tale Mills, but the version I heard was the crate was stuffed full of inebriated, divorce attorneys disguised as alligators. Six to one, half dozen to the other though far less billable hours your way!!

Jerry, I think Dean's shoes need to be bronzed. A tough act to follow for sure!

Post Office did well by me, mailed it to me in NY and forwarded to me in Fla. The article written by Charles Wheeler about the BH Parker asked the question of the reason for that gun ending up in Schenectady, NY. Since the owner was employed by American Locomotive Co. and they merged with Schenectady Locomotive Works in 1901 it is feasible the owner was transferred to Schenectady, NY
