Thanks for all that provided the feedback. I will play around with some suggestions and determine what will work best for my needs. Bird season is over so I guess it would be a great time to clean, photograph, and log information on my guns.

I use an Excel spreadsheet I created and I have recorded all the details of each gun. When acquired, cost, estimated value, etc. I am now thinking it might be a good idea to record some details of memorable hunts, trophies won etc. Those notes would let the gun "talk" after I am gone, silly maybe, but it is something I wish all mine could do of the days before I owned them.

not silly at all pete...i wish too that my guns could tell me of their past hunts and owners... i too have copied and recorfed what i gave for the guns and who i bought them from..also got estimated what i think there worth...then ive wrote down who i want my guns to go to ..and have some to be offered back for sale to the people i bought them from...boy im gonna hate to give these things up.... charlie
