Thanks to Big Jim Justice, Governor of WV who pushed for quail releases on the WMA's.
3 birds is the daily limit. I can see why my friend Garry Gordon is so fond of quail hunting. Not a Parker, the gun is a little Grade 2 Ugartechea 20, a very nice light 20, sadly Ugartecheas no longer made, I have a 12, 20, and 28.

Birds were all in extremely dense thickets of Autumn Olive
Moved alot of birds, but couldn't get shots at them. Would have been hard to even see a pheasant getting up in that stuff, let alone a little quail.

Harold, I was wondering how your hunts had been going, so I was pleasantly surprised to finally see your post. I'm sure those photos are filled with great memories that will be cherished by you for many years to come, but I do see why the first one is a favorite.
Good to see you found some quail(!). You'll have to tell us more about your WV quail when your technology is "fixed." The hardest bird to hit in my experience is a wild Bob in grouse-like cover (we call them "woods quail" here in Missouri). Thanks for sharing your photos!
