I actually avoid set guns for that very reason. I would rather have two guns with one set of barrels to hold and admire.

Interestingly enough a 16/20 set is on GI right now for high retail but with two triggers I bet it gets snatched up if the 16 gauge set are Krieghof.

I have 5 28 ga repos
4 of the 5 are 2 barrell sets
One is a 4 barrel
26 ic and mod
28 mod and full
28 skeet and ic
28 inch .410 csmc skeet and ic
Last a 28 inch ic and mod
Some put together
Some original
They did not make that
Many 28 ga, so
The one for 11k is unique

I think the 26 in barrels in South
Georgia are worthless
No thick grouse cover very few
Swamp quail left
I use the 28 in barrels for all shooting

Dean's comment "One set of barrels, doesn't matter which" does not ring true. A one barrel set, 26", sells for thousands less than a one barrel 28" gun. It does make a difference. Oddly, I had to buy a two barrel set years ago, during the closeout, because a one barrel 28" gun in any double trigger configuration was not available. I paid $2850 instead of a lower price, $1995, for the "out of stock" one barrel set. I tried to locate a one barrel 28" double trigger gun from all three closeout dealers, but could not locate one. They were awash with 26" guns.

Deleted my comment - I had misread the ad.

Talking about misreading an ad
Ithough on gunbroker it was a 28 ga repro with 28 inch barrels
Starting bid 1399
So I bid ,getting in the first bid
Well it was barrels
Only and nobody bid
At that time ,I didn't need them so resold them for same price
Later needing to put with gun
That had 26 in barrels, I was only bidders for another set
Of 28 in barrels , cost
25 dollars

I’ve had my hands on plenty of the Repros from the time they first hit the market . And from inception until now I’ve never been able to talk myself into purchasing one . To each his own I just cannot get past the MADE IN JAPAN part . To be honest that’s also why I’m not to much into Brownings that weren’t made in Belgium .
