Well, I painted the broken surfaces down with titebond III and clamped up. I shall see how it does. The break wasnt a straight through break but instead a very jagged break that went through the wrist at an angle. I think this is better as it allowed a very good surface area of glue contact. We shall see...

The key to any repair like this is the reinforcement that is done to the joint. Not just the glue joint.
These days I have been having great results with carbon fiber dowel. It is stronger than steel, and adds no weight.
