Thanks Bruce, you got a better response than I did. I asked for more pictures and a quick phone call and received neither. The gun was described as shootable, so you can imagine I was a bit surprised when I saw the left barrel. The action is loose as well and I didn't know about the replacement hammer.

Having said all of that...I am glad I bought this early Parker. I had been looking at few back actions with serial#'s < 1000. I knew I would be gambling a bit on this given the description and pictures, but figured when would I have another chance to get a Parker with a low serial number, especially # 46. So as the activity increased toward the end of the auction I just clicked "Buy it Now" and hoped for the best...

I did think the 1866 Patent info was on an unusual location on the top tang. I guess Parker moved this around a bit in the early stages of production?

They were probably pretty proud of that.

I talked with a Briley rep over the weekend about getting the shorty tubes for a 10 gauge .

But I know for a fact their webpage claims they make 20 gauge full length tubes for 10's .

Jay: The Chambers look like a 8 Ga. I would get the barrels fixed and shoot it. Thomas
