Exactly. And I would wager he was THINKING turnbull.
I would not say that Delgrego is exactly known for their case colors. Not in a good way that is.

I’m with Brian. DelGrego only does the cyanide process.

As I understand it he will ship a gun out by request for a correct bone charcoal color case hardening treatment.

Dean you may be correct but I once sent a GH 20 gauge to DelGrego for some work. They refinished the wood but told me they would only do Cyanide hardening.
When pressed for why I was told by Larry that there was to big of a chance to have the frame warp or crack. No offer to send out. Possibly they do send out for bone and charcoal hardening but I was not offered this option. |

Delgrego currently contracts case coloring to Turnbull. They have for the last 10 years (about)

Thanks Brian for this update on their case hardening process. The Parker I sent to them was an unusual VH 20 gauge straight grip with 26” twist barrels. It was before I retired and that was 10 years ago.
When I sent the gun to DelGrego I was told I couldn’t even send them the barrels as they didn’t want the Damascus barrels in the shop. The wood was nicely redone. I never had it recased. I don’t recall who I sold it to but it was one of our members. |
