Good point Brian. The recent PHE that I bought was so gummed up that the slide would not move, the pin was solidly locked and it was necessary to remove the floorplate to clean/lube and free everything up. Question for you Mike: Are you able to remove the barrels from the action and easily put them back on? This may have nothing to do with the ejectors, then again it could be a combination of both.

The link that Robin posted should explain that the ejectors need to be cocked in order for the forend to be installed. If the ejectors are cocked, pushing the cocking slide pin to the flush position while installing the forend should be a piece of cake. It is time for the original poster to bring us up to date.

Default Re-assembly of 20G GH with auto ejectors

Thanks again for your help. The barrels attach with no problem. When off the forend attaches with no problem.
