When I was in the USAF in the late sixties and early seventies we had a Super Guppy built on a converted C-54. They were made for transporting missle and rocket fuselages.

If I'm not mistaken, unlike the one in Edgar's pic which sports four turbo-prop engines, it had four P&W 3350 recips.

Dean I was also in the USAF 1968 to 1972 and I remember seeing a super guppy at Edward's Air Force base in 71 or 72

I was in from '66 - '72 and saw it at Hanscom Field in Bedford, MA
