Ok so here is what I've been able to find out. The gun was bought new @ 1930 by someone who ended up going to war in the 1940's and unfortunately was KIA. His wife kept all his guns through the time she passed away a few years back. She supposedly just kept them "put away". A friend of mine that knew the wife bought several of the guns at an estate sale. This friend of mine now has cancer and asked me to sale the gun so he can pay some bills. He is a veitnam vet. I'm just gathering all the info I can on the gun before I try to sale it for him. I may even buy it myself but I want to make sure I don't cut him short. I do appreciate all the feed back. I have been reading everything and just didn't want to reply until I had all the information I could get. Please keep on posting any information you guys have, it has helped me tremendously.

I'm thinking of taking the gun to an appraiser just to see what they say. Does anyone know of a good Parker appraiser in the area of North Carolina? I've found one or two firearm appraisers through google.
