I have seen Prussian Dalys and other similar prussian guns with, and without, through lumps in the reciever bottom just ahead of the trigger plate. The earlier guns do not seem to have these. Anyone have any idea when through lumps became more prevalent and the reasons why? Do you think that the actions may have been sourced from another supplier?

My friend and neighbor, Jon Swindle, studies and documents things like Prussian Daly lugs that do or don't go through the bottom of the receiver versus serial numbers. Post a new thread on Dave Weber's site and maybe Jon or one of the other authorities will respond.

A friend introduced me to German guns about 20 years ago and I've been hooked on them since. He has several Prussian Daly 'Diamond regent" grades including a 20 and a 28. I've never seen nicer guns.
