In the Grayling area, go to Rusty Gates' Fly Shop and buy their hand tied leaders (Stiff Maxima). They're the best. Strong, and they turn over beautifully

Just where did you live as I have lived in the area of all these duck clubs and yes I was aware of Mr. Himphrey's membership and he had President Eisenhower to the CP club as a guest and one of my old school mates dad punted the President, ie Corny Mominee.

I have shot ducks out on Lake Erie in front of The CP Club with an old time Lake Erie waterman for a hunting partner. I have a few photos of what I refer to as my poaching
days, if I can find them.

I'm sure there is more to come on this subject

Austin; I just now double checked the tippet material and it was Umpqua and fresh this spring. I know it came untied as the tippet was all curly on the end.
