I personally have always been very surprised by the low recoil that I feel every time I have shot a 0 frame 16g. Although I am usually always firing factory RSTs out of them. But I always feel like they should kick more than they do.

7300psi/1125fps

Shot out of my 0 frame 16VH they absolutely sound like a cannon and pound the every loving crap out of me. It is a very hot load, and I had two others shoot it and they said "No way that is 1125fps load..." I mean it was loud and getting there quick and it wasn't fun. A 2.5" Longshot 1oz load shot much easier on me with the same gun. Is it possible Hodgon is wrong? Should I chrono it? I won't shoot many of those it wasn't fun, contrary to what I thought the load would be like. The ONLY variable I can find is I have SG16 wads, is that the same as SPTG16?? It loads and crimps nicely. And as further information, I verified the powder throws on an RCBS digital scale, they were spot on. Any insight is appreciated.
Andy, I looked back at my 16 ga. notes and found a Hodgdon manual load very similar to the one you listed at 19.9 of Universal, 7/8 oz and a SG16 wad claiming 1150 FPS and 7500 PSI. I have NOT shot or had these tested.
I find another noted as somebody else's tested at Precision that looks very inviting with Longshot. I have had very good results with Longshot in getting plenty of FPS with minimal pressures.
2 1/2" Cheditte hull
209 Cheditte primer
18 gr. Longshot
SG16 wad
1 oz shot
6 pt crimp
1200 FPS and 7270 PSI
I typically wear electronic muffs when testing or shooting clays and cannot testify to the "Loudshot" thing.
