Nope Jeff… Just a step in the learning process. Me?… I’m still learning.

I guessing that you noticed the duct tape on the Parker.

Mr. Edgar, the stock is in transit to “a guy” to be repaired. Actually there was a small chip of wood from a previous repair that had become loose. I put the duct tape on the grip to ensure that I didn’t lose the chip.

I think these old Parker “big bores” are pretty interesting. Some guy named J. G. Curtis ordered this 6 frame “G” back in 1881. Since it weighs a hefty 11 lbs. 8 oz. one can assume he was a waterfowler. It sure would be fun to have a list of the game taken during it’s life. I’m just trying to keep the spirit alive. I shot a rooster with it last year, and then another one this year. It’s a lot o fun swinging this behemoth at a speeding pheasant.

I wanted to hold off on the repair until after pheasant season.

That close-up of the gun in your hand gives a real perspective of it's massive size.

And it was a one shot kill on a rising rooster. I could never get that behemoth moving fast enough to catch a bird on the rise but Jeff and fellow hunter Stan seem to have no problems.
