Dean: A friend of mine, Pat, was in some very "interesting" places during WWII and was one of the last 55 men fit for duty men in his infantry battalion before it was disbanded. I sorry that I never sat him down with a tape recorder to record his memories before he passed away.
Today we all have a cell phone that can record. We should make use of it.
Perhaps I should sit down and record my memories.......before I forget!

Bill, Jim Fender is quite an interesting guy and is the consummate researcher. His articles are very in-depth. I've met him a couple of times at David's home.
I'm not knowledgeable on the Joe Knapp Club or anything associated with Knapp and was just repeating what I thought I had heard. So, are we to believe that the members of the Joe Knapp Club were given these medallions and had their own favorite gunsmiths fit them in the stocks?

I think there's more to the story - though Ken Spooner did exhaustive research in preparation for his book The Knapps Lived Here - I'll bet there's more to the story.
