Doesn't make a half bad dove gun either provided the birds are flying well !

You know as I accumulate more 10 gauge and 16 gauge guns I'm starting to think about giving Ponsness Warren a call !
I know they'll put together an 800 in 16 gauge for me but I'm wondering if they can rig up an 800 or 1000 for 10 gauge 2 7/8" shells ! Of course I'd keep the pair of 600Jr's for buckshot and possibly roundballs . But for uhm bird or skeet/trap loads a PW 800 would be wonderfull ! With the 800 I could load 100 shells in about 30 minutes taking my time ! Same amount with a 600Jr would be about 2 hours .

I just sent PW and email asking if they'd modify a new 800 or 1000 loader for 10 gauge 2 7/8" !
A new 1000 is $900 with $30 additional for 10 gauge so I assume if they'd do the work the price would be about $1000 to $1100 .

With a PW 800 or 1000 that cycles 10 gauge 2 7/8" shells smoothly 600 shells and hour should be no big deal

I thought I was a high volume short ten shooter, I average probably 1000 rounds a year. Half of that at crows, most of the other half at clays and maybe 100 rounds at waterfowl. I have found it pretty easy to stay supplied using a single stage 10ga MEC. How many rounds of short ten are you shooting annually and at what?

I just like PW equipment ! But regardless of whether I was able to get a PW 800/1000 I would still need a PW 375 or 600JR for buck loads and possibly slug loads if I ever get around to that ! Loading buckshot on a PW 800 is a capital PITA . Since I got that little 600JR 16 gauge loader I'm now wishing I'd gotten a 650 instead so I could knock 100-200 of them out quick . But then it would be difficult for the buck loads . You gotta understand my FIRST shotgun loaders were PW 800B's and 800C's so ANY single stage loader seems slow to me . I may be the only shotgun shooter in history that started out with the Rolls Royce of shotgun loaders and then went to the Ford Pinto of shotgun reloaders !
