No pictures and not an unusual number of pages... Just some wonderful writing by a guy who died too early.

ABEBooks.com has five or six for sale right now. The most expensive is $1500 and the least expensive is like $850.

I have paid over $1000 for Archibald Rutledge’s first two books. No pictures, not very many pages, but worth every penny for the writing.

His writing and his story are amazing, tragic and sad. I consider him a MUST read for any outdoors person.

But one must begin at the beginning with his first “The Earth Is Enough” and the four following it, culminating with “Starlight...” which pulls it all together. It almost seems in “Starlight...” that he knew his end was near...

His books don’t follow any particular theme or narrative, but are snapshots or where his head is and his love of life and fishing at the particular time that he wrote each book.

Some books take you back in time, some to places that dreams are made of, books open doors! I am just starting Atlas Shrugged, should have read it years ago but better late than never, Gary

I've always thought there were far too few Harry Middleton fans, glad to find another one Dean.

I've bought from Gunnerman for years, and I have all of Harry's books as well, including a bootleg copy of "Starlight...", the how and where of which I won't go into...

Mills,

There are a lot of great African hunting books out there. TR's is just an unbelievable safari and maybe one of a kind.
