Default French/claro...or other?

Parker story P-172....Both French and claro walnut was used for reproduction stocks makes no mention of any other type wood. Could the above picture be franch walnut? How hard is it to tell one from the other with a finished product? French,English, claro??? I would like to be able to tell by looking at them....I do know there are two wood types used...lined streeked and flamed/marbled. I have both types in my collection....all are stunning in there own way!
