Thanks Edgar. I tried Precision prior to my post above, but they won’t test any commercially loaded ammo.

I guess I can see why they are reluctant, but that might be a new policy. Did you try Tom Armbrust?

Dissecting one isnt a bad place to start investigating. How much shot, powder and what does the wad look like? is there a cushion section, if not, id assume higher felt recoil. Its easier to find someone with a chronograph to test the actual velocity, a big factor in actual recoil.

I would give Tom Armbrust a call and discuss it with him.I just met with him yesterday and dropped off some 16 gauge reloads for him to test and a couple factory 16 gauge loads to compare them to.He does test some factory ammo so you can decide if you think it is safe to shoot in your particular gun.
