I am beginning to believe Priority service is substantially affected by gravity. I sent a package to Spencerport NY in late September and it took 14 days. Spencerport is roughly 400 miles North of me. I had a package delivered today, mailed two days ago, from that same town.

well Edgar

the bridge is out over the canal there and the PO is south of the canal-

so the delivery man would have to remember to go a little east or west to another bridge and not sit to wait out the red light at the normal crossing

on the other hand - our friend would already be south of the canal when he entered your package into the system

Priority Mail means that they will supply packaging, which isn't free, and deliver your package at there convenience. I don't ever see any U.S. government agencies making guarantees.

Edgar you did not take into account elevation, you are at 138 feet Decatur is 1,048. It is all down hill to your house and same with Spencerport.

A month ago had what started out as a simple transaction here. One month later, two checks drawn by the buyer and sent to me, and still nothing. What ever happened to "Neither rain, nor snow, nor dark of night" ? Guess they should have inserted "Covid19"

I spoke to the USPS guy behind the counter to ask why my check for a transaction I did was in some "black hole" somewhere in the tracking history. He said to me the reason why is if one person in a warehouse or a facility gets a positive COVID test result, all of that person's co-workers get a 14 day stay at home isolation. The Nashua NH facility was down for like a month and all the mail was sent to the Springfield MA location thus increasing workload there causing huge delays. He also said the previous USPS Postmaster changed the logistics that some people are blaming this mess for. Even today, they are still delivering Christmas cards and the guaranteed service will not be honored for sometime. Even the Overnight service. The package / letter will get there but who knows when it will get there. He did say it may improve in March. It is a complete fiasco.

Our governor just moved the vaccine goal posts again & starting March 5th all postal workers will be eligible to get the shots.

This could help with the mail service locally, but I'm wondering how many USPS workers will step-up to the plate & get them, when all it takes is one co-worker to test positive & you get a two week vacation?
