Michael Murphy, there are good sides and bad sides to the DH two barrel set I recently got in the mail. Bad side is that I misread the ad and the gun originally was a two barrel set, but is no longer. The good sides are, one, the barrels that are still there are the 32" ones and they are wonderful .735 bores with .038 of choke in both barrels. The blue is almost all there and very nice. #2 good point is the receiver and other case colored parts. They have color which seems to be original, don't know. Engraving is very sharp. The stock is really nice and straight like a dedicated pigeon gun ordered by someone who knew what he was looking for. The finish is nice and the checkering is sharp. The pad is a very old Silvers type with leather face. The pad has a weak widow's peak that fits into part of the original cut for the skeleton butt. Not all of the original cut is still there, so the stock must have been shortened a little. Infallible trigger in working condition as far as I can see. No test fire yet. I will be looking for a set of #2 frame 28" Titanic barrels to make this a two barrel set again.

My most recent addition is a 1875 grade 2, 10ga. lifter swapped here on the forum. 138 years old and still dropping birds out of the sky.

Rich, what kind of provenance do you have on the pigeon gun? Do you have a letter yet?
