Lee: I don't know what the problem is with some folks here, but it seems like you have a fairly rare Parker. PH Grade 12 bore with 34 inch Parker Special Steel (fluid steel) barrels and ejectors. I would say it's worth quite a bit more that you say you were offered. To me you asked a very legitimate question.

Hmmm. I may be missing something. As I understand your last post, it isn't what I'm talking about. Of the links available here that I'm familiar with, none are sites where an individual can sell a gun except doublegunshop.com. But even if there were, the seller can't mention it here.
If I'm reading your post right, it only applies to people looking for advice on guns they want to buy. I've really never seen that to be an issue. As you said, they just post a link or item number here and ask for opinions, which are usually given freely. Forgive me if I misunderstood! Jim |

Did anyone else want to weigh in? If we keep this up, fox tv will be calling about a reality show. Lots of drama here.

Gentlemen and gentlewomen,
I know not what to say. I had to stay away from this site for a few days because my head was reeling, and I was restless. The restlessness I thought was from the negative responses and what I seemed to have stirred up on your forum. In retrospect it was much more than that. Deep down I do not want to sell this gun. Reading these forums.....how passionate all you are about your 'parkers' just made it harder for me to continue on the path I was on. With great passion emotions are closer to the surface. And I think that is clearly shown in this thread. smiles. Passion is a good thing. Those that came to my defense without knowing me.....thank you so very much. It warms my heart. smiles. That shows compassion. And is a very good thing. Thank you so much to those who emailed me offering assistance, if it was to help me get a value on the gun or to purchase it for youe own collection. I know not at this time what I am going to do. A serious attempt was made yesterday to persuade me to keep the gun(Thank you). If eventually I do decide to sell I will contact those that have contacted me interested in this parker. Overall my experience on here has been a positive one. Thank you for those that started this organization and maintains it. I plan on continuing to read the forum from time to time as I have thouroughly enjoyed reading some threads(other than mine....smiles). Blessing to all, Lee |

Hello out there. I am in need of some help and advice. I have a very
old V model 12 gauge serial # 144173 Vulcan Steel barrel ~ Not a Damascus twist. I had someone look at it to get this information as I would have no clue what to post. This person is a serious gun collector and he had a fellow collector also look at the gun. I am going on what they told me to post. This is approx 1906-1907. The heel plate is in good shape, not cracked chipped or broken. There is a crack in the stock at the tang ~ I was told it was easily repaired. There is a very small scratch on the barrel (darn kids) I have it stored at this persons house in a gun safe so I will have to get pictures. According to his opinion ~ and he is very humble ( ha ) and his friends opinion ~ if not for the crack and the small scratch they felt it was 50-60%. I am hoping that if I post pictures that someone out there might be able to direct me in the best way to sell this gun and a fair reasonable price to ask for it. These collectors thought somewhere between $1500 and $2500. This was in my fathers family and I know I should keep it that way, but my husband passed away and I have a need to sell. Thank you for any reply. Cheryl |

Put your gun on the gunbroker.com. Because someone here or there says it is worth 1500-2500, it does not mean there is someone else willing to pay so. If you want to sell your gun at the current market price, gunbroker.com will do it for you..
BTW, you are in plenty of trouble here the way it is ...Also 50% 12ga VH will not fall into this price range... next time someone tells you so, tell them to put money on the table. |

Hello Ms Antiquefreak,
This is a great place for your gun to get assessed. There are guys on here that know parkers inside and out. They have taught me alot!! I now knopw more about parkers than I ever imagined. And I too started knowing little specifically about parkers a few weeks ago. First....you need to change your name....in the forum rules you are to use your name. I started this thread(this post) a few weeks ago, with the same intent as you. The parker I have was my great grandfathers, I have since decided to keep it related to some wonderful guys on here(I am a she also). If I were you....I would reregister for this site with full and name start a new thread....please email me, I will help you all I can and relate to you some things you might expect.... . toosanger@yahoo.com Blessings to you, Lee
