Default Dam 3 Lifter 20 ga

It may be worth a trip to Maine just to see this lot auctioned. There are only 14 lifter 20's archived; the three Dam 3 's are on the longer, check hook action.

4634 is the first U20; it is on a one frame with unique engraving; it is the highest grade lifter 20 known.
10165 and 17448 have been shown at PGCA. They are on a small frame comparable to a hammerless 00.
15838 was also shown at PGCA. It is on the later standard 0 frame, and the only L3. It is very modern in appearance.

Will there be 5? 10? more? bidders on the line when this lot is called? This will have a major influence on U20 collectability.

Best, Austin

Nope, but as I rode home I was thinking....... "I should have".

It seems about 4K over my self imposed limit to me but then it had a very nice fitted oak & leather case that I didn't factor in my limit calculation. I set my limit at 12 but that was gun only, I should have took into account the case and accessories that came with it. Oh well, I didn't "need" it anyway. I don't know who did the work but it was very well executed. Someone got a nice one. It would have been a lot of fun at Addieville this Spring!

I was light headed when they got through the 17 row of Winchesters. $255,000. Tomorrows Winchesters requires a note from my doctor.

Of course I wasn't there in Fairfield so I couldn't examine the guns (and I never received my catalog!!!) so I have no idea of the condition of the guns you listed Robin, but it seems like the gun market is still suffering a bit of depression - case in point, the Grade 2 28 gauge.
I suspected the 20 ga. Grade 3 lifter would go to $24 - $26 and it appeard more than one serious collector wanted it badly enough.
