Regretfully, my 26-4 on Saturday at the old club was one short of making it into a 3 way shoot off for the champagne. All 3 shoot of participants were former club Champions and a member from Wilmington made off with it in short order with a 31-3. The good news is our revamped shooting ring designed with the help of the NRA proved successful in its debut.

Mr. Kaas,
Any side by sides participating? Parkers?

How was the shoot off conducted?

I shot my 1893 Purdey pigeon gun. No other sxs guns were present. Next weekend I intend to use my Parker D grade hammer with 32" factory Titanic barrels choked .020/.035. We are using a variety of Morris and Alex's RST 1 1/4oz pigeon loads this year in 3 1/4, 3 1/2 or 3 3/4 dre at the shooter's choice all in 7 1/2 shot coppered or normal.

The shootoff are conducted at the PGC with each shooter shooting at 2 birds until a winner is determined. The guns shoot in the same order they were listed in the race.

News from the waterfowl front was encouraging. The Atlantic Brant and some divers have started to appear in northern Barnegat Bay. Considering the mild weather, this is a very good sign. I just hope it doesn't freeze up early like it has the past few years. It turns a 60 day season into a 40 day one...

Don,

I'm sure it was a pleasant day none the less. Glad the new improvements are working out, that's a relief to hear even for an occasional visiting guest.
