Default South Dakota Swans

A friend of mine and myself harvested a pair of swans in South Dakota this past week. We were both shooting Browning BSS Sporters. Mine has 28" barrels and my friends has 26" barrels. I decided to carry the BSS instead of one of my Parkers so I could shoot Hevi Shot at the Swans. I may try to harvest one in the future with Bismuth and a Parker 10 gauge. I had swan decoys out and they helped pull them it.

I managed to be in on this hunt. We were after ducks when Matt thought to toss out his swan decoys. I had no swan tag but the boys did the job. Very, very exciting, glad I was there, magnificent birds.

Just curious, can you eat them?

They are a lot like eating a goose. They are very edible.
