If the hunting does not work out, you might try fishing. Beaufort is a great place for inshore and offshore. Not sure which guide to recommend though

Was thinking about that, Almost Heaven plantation, never returned any of my calls, so I guess they are off the list....

Well, the Quail hunt never worked out, as they never returned any of my calls.

So, booked a morning of chasing redfish. Ended up catching some eater size, and 4 fish over 26" including this nicely spotted one.

It was too hot to hunt anyway!

Nice one! Yes, now is a good time to fish around here. I hang up bird hunting at the end of February.

Were you fly fishing? If so, what weight line were you using? Nice red!

No, we started out tryin to spot fish and topwater, and jigs.... They were not having anything to do with it, so we "cheated" and used minnows.

I didn't pack my fly rods... But, would like to try that some day. I had tweaked my back on Monday night, so it was all I could do to just be in the boat that day.

It really was, but the morning on the water was gorgeous.

Backwoods QC is more in line with my budget. (Almost Heaven is $2K per gun per day).

Has anyone shot the preserve birds at Backwoods?

Decent birds?
Good guides?

I will be in the neighborhood during the first week of December.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!
