Coming in at a hefty 145 I honestly can’t imagine I would enjoy shooting one of those. But ......I’d try it once.

When I owned a Charles Lancaster 8 b with 36 inch barrels and weight 13 lbs, the recoil using 1 & 3/4 oz shot was very mild. Depends on weight of shotgun, etc.

I saw him do it once. It hurt me to see him be twisted about 180 degrees. I think he put it down.

Mine is a ca1903 Davenport Goose Gun. It is a single with a 36 inch barrel and weighs 11 pounds. Recoil with Tom Armbrust's 1-1/2 ounce loads is very mild.

My 8g is a 1908 mfg gun, 14" LOP, 3 1/8" DAH 12 lb 4 oz, 34" Twist barrels choked F/F.

I must admit I love my 8 gauge but it is a bit awkward to shoot after breaking my shoulder months back(and no it wasn't caused by recoil lol)
