Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the large "stock shield" in the right side of the buttstock? I am presuming it is engraved but can't read.

Letter documents shield being installed at factory along with the Silvers pad.

The gun was a complete two barrel set a few years ago, offered for sale in the mid sixes.

Most interesting how some guns "grew" a new set of barrels over the years as they matured in the dealer's queues!!
