Garry,

A person loaned me the Gordon book by Dallas. If you haven’t read it, it’s a very interesting read. Dallas agrees that Dickson probably took advantage of him. Time for a scotch.

Ken, I have the book, and the story it reveals about Gordon is, to me, a sad one. It's easy to see how his early life may have resulted in some emotional issues that caused his erratic behavior.

I hope that before you drank your scotch you toasted your bird season and those two fine dogs of yours (and that nice 20 bore Dickson!).

Garry

Mr. Gordon: Please protect that fine Dickson from the myriad hazards of a duck marsh. And well done on finding its history. Fully half the pleasure of owning these grand old guns is the provenance they carry with them.

Thanks, John. You are so right about the pleasure of serving as caretaker for these fine pieces of history. And I promise to be careful with this gun on its one or two outings in coming seasons.
