I bought 97 flats a couple of years ago from an estate. Averaged $4.30 per box. I don’t need these paper shells I wanted them.
That said I have been shooting RST shells for years. With shipping they are about $20 per box.
I went Mearns quail hunting 4 times this past week and only shot a box and a half of 20 gauge shells.
So about $30 to hunt 4 days.
I don’t shoot clay targets very often and won’t be shooting Eurasian dove in any large number with any of these paper loads, but the smell alone reminds me of when I was a kid and will be worth every penny.
I don’t drink $100 a bottle scotch very often but occasionally I splurge and enjoy it.

I wonder what the pressure is in the 1145 fps load ? Any ideas or info ? EDIT OUT: I looked and they are out of stock on several choices (one of them my choice)

Bruce, these loads would be loaded to standard velocity and pressure. Since it is a paper shell, and Remington has not loaded paper shells since 1960 or so, I would assume they are the same pressure as a Federal paper shell. Most of the major factories load to SAAMI pressure, nothing "low" like with a handload or RST. A 12 gauge shell would be in the 10,000 psi range.

I am not sure. Nothing listed on the box. It does state Reduced felt recoil. Then also stated do not use in Twist or Damascus barrels.

That’s just a disclaimer the insurance companies insist on for the manufacturers. Heck, every box of RST shells has that same disclaimer.

I ordered a flat yesterday in 7-1/2 shot and 1145 speed. I always liked the Peters brand and perhaps was overly influenced in my youth by the Peters Packs the Power adverts in the sporting mags. The hardware stores in town didn't carry Peters and I'd ride my bicycle two towns up the line to a store that did. I was fortunate to do some fox hunting ahead of trailing hounds back then with a good man who took me under his wing, and when the baying swung towards me there was nothing like the confidence of having two Peters high brass 2's in my Western Arms double gun. They were the regular 1-1/4 ouncers at 1330 or so speed. Well anyway, I like Peters blue paper shells. Yeah I know these new Peters are target loads but they'll work just fine for birds in any number of my double guns.

Thanks Stan. Yep they sure built confidence in this young guy while listening to the hound music. What great artwork! I've been buying good papers at gun shows for some time now and have plenty for occasional use while hunting. I focus on those made in the later 50's to early 60's, and most will fire loud and crackly as when new. Paper shells with powder or primers that have soured (creating hangfires or duds) can generally be seen with corrosion on the top of the brass base or around the primer pocket. Sort those out when buying.

I looked at these when I first saw them but nothing led me to believe they were low pressure, just a vintage look.
