Dean, after surgery I couldn't take him out until late February. From day 1 he scented every bird, pointed, held point, was steady to wing and shot and even did some retrieving. I shot 48 birds over him by early April. By the end of the season he was consistently retrieving too. All four of our Setters are excellent hunters.

That's really impressive Mike!

If ya want a bird dog you have to get them on a lot of birds and you're doing it right!

As Ken Alexander always told us, a dog that has seen 20 birds will be only as good as the 20 birds. A dog that has seen 50 birds will be as good as seeing 50 birds. A dog that has seen 100 birds...... You get the gist.

Like any great athlete it’s all about practice and experience.
This old girl Missy accounted for 11 put of 16 birds on the last day of the season Feb 10, 2019. At 10 years old she was one of 6 dogs we ran that day. I will miss her when she is gone. She has turned some so so days into some fantastic memories.

Mike,
The Northern SXS was my first time to your place. I thoroughly enjoyed the event. My wife came with me and it took me until the afternoon of the second day to realize what was going on. Periodically she would ask me if I had to go to the Club House. In reality she just wanted to visit with the dogs any chance she could. She definitely took a liking to Mick. He is a fine dog and thank tou for an enjoyable event.
