It is an original DH, not an upgrade. The engraved pointer is period correct and the style is attributable to Frederick Anschutz who died in 1931.
Below is GH No. 235908 which was produced in 1931 and appears to have been engraved by Robert Runge Jr. who was Anschutz's successor. .
