Mark I tried loading your tested recipe for 1 3/8 ounce bismuth you posted here. I wonder if there are significant differences between Remington hulls. With 24 grains of Unique and the SP-10 wad in the dark green Remington hull there was no way I could use a fold crimp, a roll crimp is necessary for that load.

Pete , The Rem hulls I used for that load where purchased new and cut to length . Don't remember where I bought them , maybe Precision Reloading .
What color are the hulls you are using , dark green or metallic green ? I know in 16ga Green Rems the base wad height between Steel shot hulls and Lead shot hulls is different . Also the only filler used in that load is "1" .030 16ga osc in the cup. |
