I think at least I will get the barrels refinished. There is information so I might get a letter also. Serial is 3870 with 32 in barrels. I will see after I get the letter if I get more work done.

Buttstock is an incorrect replacement. Forend is original.

Yup, very unusual (unique?) key.
It would be nice to see the complete buttstock - both sides - before passing judgement on its originality. |

There is nothing about that stock by way of form or checkering that is correct for an early high grade lifter.
The fit looks pretty good though from what I see.
