Chokes are mod/full, but I may have them opened up. I have some poly wad spreader loads on order and want to see how they pattern first. They are defiantly too tight for grouse and woodcock as my hit miss ratio indicated my last two trips to norther Michigan but I was still able to bag a few.

The factory chokes are very tight...the full side is often .038 Way over choke. Chokes can be altered but it must be done by a pro with good feed back. If not done properly it may not shoot point of aim or patterns may be poor. Connecticut shotgun may offer this service I would check with them. That said send it out and have them opened to your needs. The gun will be more useable if done properly. Chokes for grouse gun used for the full season early thru late I like .005 and .015 or .005/ .020 This is IC/FULL Thanks all SXS ohio....(-:

Keep em comming guys, I love to hear everyone's thoughts on chokes for grouse and woodies (especially with a 28 ga) I hope to do some patterning this weekend, including point of impact. This gun is stocked pretty high for me so I may need a stock adjustment as well.

Jeff,
Beautiful wood!
I had my 28 ga Repro chokes opened to Skt I and Skt II then again to 0.001" and 0.003" against the advice of others who know better than I. I have not regretted the modification. Unfortunately the grouse did! The gun seems to be magic.
