An end of an era has taken place. Since the beginning of the challenge the Southern has provided me with a new gun (once it was a rifle but a nice Pre 64 M70) or two. this year however nothing followed me home but there are two candidates that are in the wings

Mills, what's the deal with the graded checkering on your new gun? What does the order card say about it? Who was the seller? OK, now I'll give you a rest.

Bill, The gun was featured in Frank Srebro's article in the AHFCA journal, I think Spring 2009. Check it out.

The shooting at Drakes was the best. Thanks Rich for putting it together. I know I will be back next year. I had a great southern, sold the vhe and che. Came home with a great super fox and a first edition of The Wilderness Hunter by TR. Met a bunch of new fox collectors and signed up many new members. Hope to see most everyone at Hausmanns.

Well, I guess not everybody from Wheeling shoots as bad as me. Apparently the 16 and 20 ga events were won by a gentleman from Wheeling. The 16 event was won with a borrowed Sterlingworth and the 20 ga with a Russian
Bakhail. I had talked to this group on Friday at the Southern and on Sat they came up to Drake's Landing--they were blown away with the courses and stated that they would be back to Drakes next year.
On a side note. Cabela's Wheeling has a display with 3 CE Foxes (12, 16, 20), and their factory letters--yes they are for sale @ $59,999.
Looking forward to seeing everybody again at Hausmann's.
