Talking New (To Me ) GH

I recently bought a very nice GH (12ga, #2) made in 1894. I have not previously owned one of the older (pre 1900) Parkers and I am amazed at the balance and shootablity of this old gun. It has been lovingly used but not abused. It locks up tight as a tick The bores are still bright and the finish is worn to a patina. The Damascus is beautiful and the engraving is still crisp and well prserved. The previous owner recheckered it in the original pattern and it just excels. I'm tickled pink to own this nice old gun. I couldn't help telling the world.

Ben- sounds great.
Show us some photos. I very interested to see what a good condition G looks like of that vintage.

I like to shoot my old G (I like to shoot ALL Parkers!!). It was my first experience at shooting those dangerous Damascus barreled time bombs. They just sound way over the top cool. I got the last rooster I shot last year on the last day of the Iowa season with it and it crushed the bird. Have fun. I am having a lot of fun with a little 1 frame 12 ga PH that is a delight to carry late in the afternoon. I think it is from 1893. Old Guys Rule.

My camera is FUBAR at the moment so i don't have a way to post pics. I'll get some tomorrow and post a link. This gun is virtually "unfooled with". Screws mostly virginal. and butt uncut. I just love shooting old guns. I shot a 21 and 19 with it at the trap club first time out. It shoots where I look (Saturday anyway). Wood is not fancy but nice.

What a great gun.

I currently have three old gs and love them all like children. I think they are often the best bargains in Parkerdom.
