Default 1904 Parker 12 guage hammerless sbs shotgun

Hi, I'm new to this forum and am trying to find some information about my Parker 12 guage Hammerless Grade P side by side 30 inch twist barrel shotgun. The serial number is 122452. Any info/history gratefully received and an indication of its value would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Your gun is not available for identification in the Serialization Book, which relies on the Parker Brothers Stock Books for reference. However, the PGCA researcher has information on your gun, which indicates that information is available from the Parker Brothers Order Books. You may want to request this information by looking on the Parker Research section of the home page. PGCA membership is required to get a $40 letter. You have to decide whether the fee is worth the information, which may be minimal for your gun, which may have been sent to a hardware store rather than an individual customer.

Many thanks Bill for the very quick reply. I'm in the UK - so either the gun would have had to have been exported to an official UK importer or imported privately by a previous owner.

The PH grade was Parkers's base Grade or Grade 1 until they introduced the V grade and then Trojan Grade. After a while, the PH grade was pretty much all but phased out due to the V and Trojan being a much higher seller than the PH.

Personally, I find it interesting that another Parker found its way to the UK? I know we have a couple other members from there.

Makes you wonder, with all the big London and Birmingham names along with countless local gunmakers over there, how many American guns were imported.

A PGCA letter would tell us whether this or any other Parker were imported to the UK at birth, or brought there by a shooter later. I, personally, have not seen a Parker order from a UK customer. I have read thousands of orders and seen orders to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, China, and some other countries, but no UK orders.
